More About Senya

Senya is a psychotherapist with over 15 years of experience working in both community health and private practice settings. He has worked with children, adults, and couples from diverse cultural, gender, and socio-economic backgrounds. His therapeutic approach is grounded in social consciousness and cultural humility, with a strong respect for each client’s lived experience.

Senya has extensive experience supporting couples, polyamorous relationships, and adults navigating complex relational and identity-based concerns. He is a certified sex educator and has designed and facilitated group programs focused on sexual education for people living with disabilities and for young adults.

Using an integrative and flexible approach, Senya tailors treatment to align with the unique needs, values, and goals of each client. He frequently draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Family Systems approaches. When working with couples, Senya views the relationship itself as the client and focuses on providing the tools and support needed to heal, strengthen, and sustain healthy connections.

Q&A

  • I became a therapist because I have wanted to help others and I have been curious about human existence for as long as I can remember. Psychotherapy provided me with a great opportunity to pursue these interests.

  • I have found that some of the essential aspects of humanness are rooted in communication, sexuality, and attachment/bonding. Couple work usually includes these elements, which allows me to learn while helping people.
